Sorry this was supposed to be with the last picture...posted earlier tonight blogger forgot it!

So I'm sure you noticed the cone and I bet you know I wouldn't where it on my own accord. So I guess I'll spill the beans.

Apparently I got something stuck in my eye. I don't remember where and mom didn't see it but noticed my bloodshot eyes and how I kept one partially closed.

The vet had to flush it out but said I had an ulcer developing under the object. So that means pills, eye drops, cream, and the cone. It's not so bad, mom says I act like nothing is wrong but we can't take chances with me accidentally hitting the eye or scratching it.

I seem to get lots of extra treats, butt skitches and oos and ahs so I think I'll keep the cone on for now. Hope you are all doing well.

I'm a Pit Bull, and I have Storm Anxiety...

We've had a couple of major spring thunderstorms here in Texas the past couple of weeks. Mom and Dad are worried and also anxious because they claim I'm keeping them up. I pace and pant and roam all over no matter the time of the storm.

This was mom's attempt to make a 'homemade' anxiety wrap. She's heard of Thundershirts or Storm Capes, but isn't sure about the cost. So she thought she'd try a homemade wrap with stuff we had. This is a very snug doggy t-shirt, and an Ace Bandage. Either it didn't work at all or the ace was too thin for my bigger bully size.

No clue what to do next because $40 for a shirt that won't work doesn't sound fun! For now I pace and pant and eventually settle in the secluded bathroom when my parents put my bed in there, where there are no outside walls or windows.

Thanks for all your help in helping to change the perception of Pit Bulls, bullys and dogs in general with children. We need to let people know that their child and dog can co-exist if the child is taught respect for the animals in their home whether it is a Yorkie or a pit bull.

Mom's been a little busy with her new job, that she started right after Thanksgiving (so no more all day, all week with mom at home). And she says this is what her desk looks like at work. I see three pictures of me there!! That's one more than dad, haha!!

We're both very sorry for the lack of posts and hope that we can be better about it when then New Year starts. Some exciting things will be happening over the holidays that I'll be sure to post about.

Their impression on our lives and hearts is much bigger than their time on earth. Please show them the same unconditional love they give you so freely.

Please keep the Lee family in your hearts and thoughts today, they are saying goodbye too early to one of the best loved dogs out there. This wonderful lady gave me the gift that is my Princess by rescuing her from the streets when so many others would have run away from such a 'terrifying' pit bull. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for her and her family.

Princess and I love you Max and will miss the time we had with you. I will forever be in debt to the Lee family for sharing the love they have for animals with Princess and me.

That Salty Flavor

Well I don't know how much you all know about Texas, but most everyone knows it's hot!

My parents have been back just a little over two weeks now and about 14 of those days have been over 100 degrees! They were used to the lower than 80s in that foreign place and they are having a hard time coping.

I'm teaching them the ropes of how to deal with heat, morning walks, lots of water, and so on.

I have to help dad out a little more though and this is how I do it...

See he's been sweating a lot so I help keep him dry and cool. Mom says it's pretty disgusting and she doesn't understand it or like it, but there's just something about that salty flavor...

Since mom and dad have been home they seem to need a little re-training on what the right and wrong things to do are.

I have to remind them a lot to remember to play ball with me by demanding to go outside. They don't seem to appreciate the 100 degree heat and forget to spend time out there!

Another thing... they claim they have to catch up on all the good American TV they missed, as they say the British TV isn't so good. So I've had to re-train them when it's bedtime and show them where the room is.

Here's me showing them where the bedroom is and that we should all be tired because it's bedtime. I'll usually lay here until the notice me and get off the couch!

FFM signing off

Princess the wonder dog is now back at her grandparents. I thought I'd have to console Beckett because over the course of the past few days he's expressed the fact that he does not want her to go. Ugh. Break my heart.

Well, now it is he who is consoling me. It was so nice to have Princess in our home for such a long stay. In some ways, it felt like she had never left. P's mom knows it, but I *almost* didn't adopt Princess out after she found her way back to me for what, the 3rd time? I really struggled with the thought of letting her go. In reality, I could not ask for a better home for Princess. She has an entire extended family that would do anything for her. She certainly is not wanting for love! But still, it leaves my heart a little broken again. Damn I love that dog. I'm going to miss sneaking her up on the sofa with me to cuddle.

As Princess has been my one and only foster, my words don't carry as much weight as the countless other foster families out there. But if for one minute you thought you might be able to offer up your home and your heart to a foster dog, please do. For all the tears I have shed, I'd cry a million more if it meant that there were no more dogs dying in our shelters... especially pit bulls.

7. Storytime with Becks every single night. Walter the Farting Dog is a personal fave.

6. The "circle of love"; i.e. the stupid human trick my FFM taught me many years ago. She squats down and holds her arms out in a circle and says "circle of love" and I put my head through her arms for some loving. Yes, she is a dork but I love her anyways.

5. Chasing toys up and down stairs keeps my shapely posterior in tip top shape.

4. Harrasing the squirrels that live in the palm tree out back is super fun.

3. Being Bellona's back up, or shall I say bark up? Maximus does a very poor job of guarding or barking. Humph. Men!

1. FFD is such a sucker that he lets me up on the sofa without making too much of a fuss. I think he has kind of missed me being part of the pack!

Hi there fellow Princess fans. Just thought I'd let you know that for the next 17 days Princess will be chilling at my place and hanging out with her buds Maximus (American Bulldog) and Bellona (Anatolian Shepherd) and little man Becks (3 years 4 months). There will be lots of photos taken in the next 17 days so consider yourself warned.

Last night went really well given the fact that all 3 beasts have not played all together in oh, 3 1/2 years. Shamefull really but I'm a really anxious person when it comes to dog intros and once little baby Becks arrived, it was just too much to try so we kept putting it off, and putting it off, well you get the gist.

I had a good friend come over to help walk everyone with Princess on neutral turf to dispense any energy they had. Then we let them loose in the back yard where everyone helped themself to the pool. It is the world's best water bowl according to the beasts. As Maximus is not the brightest bulb when reading another dog's body language he is not in any pics because I had to be pay attention to their cues for refereeing. Everyone knows Bellona is alpha b!tch supreme, but Maximus and Princess are never really sure who is on top so I have to watch them for any signs of them giving one another the stink eye.

Elevated Days!

Hi everyone!! This is a long time coming, but I finally got my grandparents to take some pictures of me. They've just been so busy playing fetch, taking me on walks and runs, making me omelets, and letting me cuddle on the big bed with them that they forget to pull the camera out!

But since they noticed I have a habit of crawling up into their outside chairs they thought they'd get me something of my very own. See below it's one of those outdoor elevated cot/bed thingies. And see their chairs in the background? They're almost the same type of material so I love it already!

Hope your all doing well! Mom and dad are doing good and started a blog of their own for their travels (copy-cats!!!) so I get to see what they're up to. Mom says she misses me a lot and has been taking tons of pictures of dogs who get to go everywhere with their humans in Europe, she even has got to pet some and throw a ball for one in Hyde Park. (I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous...)

Another reason for an update now, my FFM (former foster mom) will be letting me stay over at her house the next couple weeks, because apparently my grandparents want to go visit mom! FFM says she's going to take loads of pictures and help me post on my blog as well!!

A little bit of sad news for me...Mom and Dad are going to a place called London, England for 3 months today. Apparently Dad is getting a chance to work for a UK firm and they're both really excited. But that means they have to leave me behind and they are super sad about that.

I'm sad too, but don't worry my Grandma and Grandpa are going to let me stay at their place and they'll spoil me rotten with dog food omelets and lots of runs and walks!

I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post on my blog, but if I can just keep convincing my grandparents I'm cute they should take lots of pictures especially because mom is going to want to see new ones a lot.

Mom was looking through pictures of me to find some cute ones for my bloggy (who is she kidding they're all cute!!) and came across the ones I'm going to share with your today. They're over a couple months old now...

This was my Christmas gift from momma. Do you know what it is? It's a Nina Ottosson Interactive Toy for doggies. This one is called The Brick. Mom says she makes some for cats too.
What your human does is hide yummy treats under the brown sliding things and the white little bones. Then it's our job to figure out how to get to the treats!!
Yum!! It's supposed to help stimulate your brain and give you something physical to do. Physical and mental stimulation is very important for us dogs to stay happy and healthy.Mom said she was a little worried when buying it that I wouldn't get it, but was shocked and surprised when I had all the treats out in less than 5 minutes! Ha!!

Hey everyone, I'm excited to say I got some awards and memes this week! I've been bad at following up on some in the past with mom being super busy and all so I'm going to make sure I let my friends know I appreciate them by actually posting and everything!

First up, an award that was given to me over a month ago from my Vizsla friend Doug!!

With this one I'm supposed to tell you 10 things that make me happy!! Here goes:

So here it is, well it's not super recent as momma has been very bad about uploading pictures of me from her camera.

This is dad and me before he was my dad at his ranch. Don't worry that car doesn't run, so he wasn't drinking and driving!

Bed Time

So mom's a little embarrassed that I'm writing this post, so if you do the same speak up so she doesn't feel crazy...

This winter I started trying something new at bed time. I usually get to hang out on the human bed for a little while every night and then I go to my own space. Since it was a colder winter I decided to see if they'd let me in the covers.

I went to the top of the bed and sniffed around and sure enough mom lifted the covers and sheets, I don't think she thought I'd actually get in, but I hopped right in and went to the foot of the bed! I had to move around a bit to get the sheets un-tucked, but I found it nice and cozy and warm. I have to stick my head out usually to get a little fresh air and now mom says she has to wash the sheets much more often.

So this is almost a nightly routine now, but I don't know how much I'll last as it gets warmer! Mom says Grandma's going to get quite a surprise the next time I go stay with them because I can be very pushy!

February is Pet Dental Month!

Oh it's not February anymore?! Tell my mom that, she's so far behind!

Anywho, when I visited the V-E-T a couple weeks ago, they asked mom to start helping me brush my teeth. Nothing too bad with them yet, but they could be if she doesn't help me start now!

So in honor of Pet Dental Month here's the brushing my mom did a couple weeks ago, we hoped to get them up this weekend, but momma was a little sick.

The tools: a finger tip brush and vanilla toothpaste.

Letting me sniff the stuff...Now to taste the stuff...And now for the brushing!! It wasn't so bad...it tasted yummy and I licked it a lot. Mom says she's going to get peanut butter flavor next time!! YUMMY!!

V-E-T

I went to the V-E-T at the end of the week last week (and mom is just not helping me post about it...), don't worry I love the V-E-T.

I just love meeting people in general and there are lots of nice people at the V-E-T. Here I am sitting somewhat nicely to get weighed.
And here I am talking really loudly to anyone who will listen. All the interesting smells make me really excited so I talk a lot. Then all the vet techs and other nice ladies come in a say hi, then I give them butt wiggles and lots of kisses.
Only part I don't like about the V-E-T is when they try to clip my nails. I'm not a fan of that at all!!

I think I'm going to lose my mom tonight to that silly box with people and sometimes animals in it...she and daddy really like that show LOST.

Maybe if I can somehow hide myself in the show she'll pay some attention to me...what do you think? Do I fit it?
