Bike Ride

I love going on bike rides with my mom and my FLF (Father-like-figure aka mom's boyfriend). When they take me along with them I actually get to RUN, unlike other runs where I trot at a slower pace so mom can keep up! Here are some pictures.
We know it's not the safest way, but FLF holds the leash (mom isn't talented enough). Don't worry, he wears a helmet! And we're looking at getting one of these: Springer
Check out my legs in this one! I'm really moving...it's also toward the end so I'm tired, can you tell by my tounge? I'm a tired happy dog!!

  1. WOOHOO!! what fun! I ride with mom on her bike too! we have the walky dog (http://tinyurl.com/6xdhdg). we like it a lot. mom says shes heard lots of good things about the springer too (they are almost the same I think!)

it is hard to tell in the photos but it looks like you have a prong or chain collar on- you might want to look into getting a harness instead, it will be safer that way for using on the bike at these high speeds, and if your FLF needs to make a sudden stop or something, being on a collar could be dangerous.

once you get the springer you shouldnt be able to pull FLF over as easily so wont need the no-pull collar. :) they do sell no-pull harnesses too if you are still too strong (I know our pittie sister sure is!!!), the sporn harness (http://tinyurl.com/d47jmk) might be a good option for using with the bike, since the leash attaches in the back.

    stay safe, and keep runnin'!

  2. Hi Princess,

You look like you are having a good time running along side that bike. I bet you get a great work out! Mom used to do that with her Golden/Labrador Retriever mix, Savannah. She loved it too.

  5. We bought one of those Springers for Tucker, but it was right around the time his thyroid crashed and we never ended up using it. I don't even know where it is now. It seemed like it would have worked though!

  6. Hi Princess,

You look fantastic running with the bike! I've never tried that - us Danes don't have much stamina and I think I would probably collapse after 5 minutes! Hee! hee! But you look like a real professional athlete! :-)

  7. Princess, You are SO coordinated. I can't even run with the brown dogs. I've tried and always end up tripping because of a dog underfoot. :)

  8. Mommy sakets with me - she isnt coordinated to ride with me either - but skating works for us - she is a very good skater and we go everywhere - even over grass!!

Definately gotta get a harness cause you could hurt your throat - good luck on your running - it is so much fun

  9. Princess you really got you a workout!! Lucky for mommy, I'm not the running kind. A nice walk through the neighborhood or the park and I'm good to go. But only if it's nice out and not to hot and humid. My squishy face may be cute, but it sure makes it hard to cool down. Hope you get your springer so you can go on more rides!!!!

  10. We are not allowed on the bikey runs. Mommy says we go 'astray' whatever that means.

But you have a very very long tongue, much like the Bobo.
