The Reason I've Been Missing

Mom's been a little busy with her new job, that she started right after Thanksgiving (so no more all day, all week with mom at home). And she says this is what her desk looks like at work. I see three pictures of me there!! That's one more than dad, haha!!

We're both very sorry for the lack of posts and hope that we can be better about it when then New Year starts. Some exciting things will be happening over the holidays that I'll be sure to post about.

Dog Day Afternoon

Today I helped my dad with some chores around the farm, like putting out the hay for the cows to eat. Not sure why they eat that dry stuff I prefer the green stuff myself!

We're up in Oklahoma again for our Thanksgiving break. I'm having fun running free, chasing cows and wildlife, and diving in mud ponds. Can you see my muddy paws?! Hope you are all having a great Thanksgiving break!!

Hug your four legged babies a little tighter today and give them an extra treat or two, butt skitchs, and that extra 5 minutes on their walk, you never know when it will be their last. Their impression on our lives and hearts is much bigger than their time on earth. Please show them the same unconditional love they give you so freely.

Please keep the Lee family in your hearts and thoughts today, they are saying goodbye too early to one of the best loved dogs out there. This wonderful lady gave me the gift that is my Princess by rescuing her from the streets when so many others would have run away from such a 'terrifying' pit bull. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for her and her family.

Princess and I love you Max and will miss the time we had with you. I will forever be in debt to the Lee family for sharing the love they have for animals with Princess and me.

Since mom isn't leaving me everyday to go to that place called work(she's looking for some instead), she gets to actually take me on morning walks. She's been better about running so most of the time we run.

She took a video of our morning routine lately...(make sure you don't have your speakers up too loud if you are at w-o-r-k)...mom says I can get a little over-excited.

Sigh...it's Monday.

I think I have a case of the Monday's...Dad's back to work, mom is on the computer constantly trying to find work and no one has as much time for me as they do on the weekends...

Sigh...I guess I can be happy I got my run this morning!

Hi from the Ranch!

We've been at the ranch over the long weekend, I hope you all had a nice vacation and I've got some great pictures and stories to share with you!

Hello out there!!

Wow! Mom and I just noticed I have over 100 followers!!! This must have happened sometime when she and dad were gone and she accredits FFM and her amazing pictures for the jump in followers, but I know it's my gosh darn cute personality! ;)

So welcome to all the newbies, if you've never posted a comment, we'd love to hear from you and know about your blogs if you have them. And to all the 'old' regulars thanks for stopping by again, it's nice to know I have people who love me just the way I am!!

That Salty Flavor

Well I don't know how much you all know about Texas, but most everyone knows it's hot!

My parents have been back just a little over two weeks now and about 14 of those days have been over 100 degrees! They were used to the lower than 80s in that foreign place and they are having a hard time coping.

I'm teaching them the ropes of how to deal with heat, morning walks, lots of water, and so on.

I have to help dad out a little more though and this is how I do it...

See he's been sweating a lot so I help keep him dry and cool. Mom says it's pretty disgusting and she doesn't understand it or like it, but there's just something about that salty flavor...

Since mom and dad have been home they seem to need a little re-training on what the right and wrong things to do are.

I have to remind them a lot to remember to play ball with me by demanding to go outside. They don't seem to appreciate the 100 degree heat and forget to spend time out there!

Another thing... they claim they have to catch up on all the good American TV they missed, as they say the British TV isn't so good. So I've had to re-train them when it's bedtime and show them where the room is.

Here's me showing them where the bedroom is and that we should all be tired because it's bedtime. I'll usually lay here until the notice me and get off the couch!

Hi everyone I know it's been ages and I thank you for still stopping by. Mom and dad are back and I'm happy to be home!

Tonight we're grilling out pizza, don't know how much I'll actually get but I'm happy to beg for scraps!!

Guess What?!

Guess what I heard?! Can you guess, can you guess?! I heard mom and dad are going to be back in a little less than three weeks!! Yippee!!!

FFM signing off

Princess the wonder dog is now back at her grandparents. I thought I'd have to console Beckett because over the course of the past few days he's expressed the fact that he does not want her to go. Ugh. Break my heart.

Well, now it is he who is consoling me. It was so nice to have Princess in our home for such a long stay. In some ways, it felt like she had never left. P's mom knows it, but I *almost* didn't adopt Princess out after she found her way back to me for what, the 3rd time? I really struggled with the thought of letting her go. In reality, I could not ask for a better home for Princess. She has an entire extended family that would do anything for her. She certainly is not wanting for love! But still, it leaves my heart a little broken again. Damn I love that dog. I'm going to miss sneaking her up on the sofa with me to cuddle.

As Princess has been my one and only foster, my words don't carry as much weight as the countless other foster families out there. But if for one minute you thought you might be able to offer up your home and your heart to a foster dog, please do. For all the tears I have shed, I'd cry a million more if it meant that there were no more dogs dying in our shelters... especially pit bulls.

The top 10 reasons I love my FFM house

10. We get to take nightly strolls with the little man.

9. FFM likes to jazz up our kibble with yummy stuff like Tripe, yogurt, and canned plain pumpkin

8. The ginormous water bowl in the back yard (but you already knew that).

7. Storytime with Becks every single night. Walter the Farting Dog is a personal fave.

6. The "circle of love"; i.e. the stupid human trick my FFM taught me many years ago. She squats down and holds her arms out in a circle and says "circle of love" and I put my head through her arms for some loving. Yes, she is a dork but I love her anyways.

5. Chasing toys up and down stairs keeps my shapely posterior in tip top shape.

4. Harrasing the squirrels that live in the palm tree out back is super fun.

3. Being Bellona's back up, or shall I say bark up? Maximus does a very poor job of guarding or barking. Humph. Men!
